Here at the Fort Lee Public Library, we are constantly challenged to re-define and refine the mission and goal of the public library. We are convinced that the library, particularly our library, is like no other place. We are moving forward and evolving, yet always cherishing our traditional role of providing books for readers. In the thirty-six years since opening our present building, libraries have seen more change in information technology, formats, and publishing than in the two centuries preceding 1971. Our community has grown and changed dramatically, and the library has endeavored to keep pace with those changes. Our commitment to serving those needs of our public is what makes the Fort Lee Public Library a special place, and like no other place.
